Boston Red Sox Over the course of many years, the Boston Red Sox have been a very tough competitive team. They are chocked full of great players today and back then. They have been the team to beat for the last 100 years. They are the BEST.
Ever since 1901, they have been dominating. These guys have won a whole 7 World Series. This is the third most in all of franchise histories. The only two ahead of Boston are the St. Lewis Cardinals with 10 and the New York Yankees with 27. The Sox have been around for a lot of time now so they have quite a bit of history and exciting moments to go with the oldest stadium. One moment was in 1975 in the ALDS when Carlton Fisk hit the game 6 walk off homerun. This was one of the biggest moments in Red Sox history. The Red Sox have also made some fans after the 2004 ALCS.
In the 2004 ALCS the Boston Red Sox were playing the New York Yankees. These teams were rivals and to many people this is the biggest rivalry in all of sports. The Yankees were dominating the Sox in the 1st game, the 2nd game, the 3rd game, and for most off the 4th game. They had to come back from a 3-0 series in the best of 5 series. This had never been done in all of sports history. Until now. They were down in the ninth against the greatest closer to even live. Then a walk off homerun to take game 4. They came out with game 5 and game 6. It was all up too Derek Lowe who was pitching for the Sox. They ended up winning and going to the World Series where they swept the St. Lewis Cardinals to become world champions. This was all given credit to the great Red Sox players.
The Red Sox have had many great players in their history, they do now, and they will in the future. The Sox have owned the greatest hitter to ever live and the greatest pitcher to ever live. They currently have 33 players in the Baseball Hall of Fame that have played for them. Boston is always trying, never giving up, and always there for the fans. All the fans are loyal and loving. Many people will say they like another team, but the Red Sox are the best there is and will always be and have the best. The Red Sox are the best MLB team in the history of baseball. They have had so many great players, so many spectacular moments, and the greatest of stories to go along with 7 World Series wins. They are baseball.
My Story
Boston Red Sox Game I was so excited about going to the Red Sox game that my heart felt like it would burst. I had been too many before but every new game just got more and more exciting and memorable. At this particular game I had a ball and did so many things. As my grandma and I exited the hotel, we were quickly visited by the fellow tourists and the one and the only Bill Lee. He was our tour guide for the tour at Fenway Park so he had to have a lot experience with the park. He was a starting pitcher for the Red Sox for many years. We all took pictures with him and then we were off to the stadium. We took a bus down into Boston until we reached the historic stadium, Fenway Park. We got to sneak into the side door because Bill said he knew a guy. First he took us to the Red Sox Hall of Fame. He showed us many legends plaques as well as his own. Next we walked to right field and that’s where he showed us the longest homerun ball hit ever in the stadium by the great Ted Williams. Then we switched sides and strolled over too left field where he showed us the famous Green Monster. He told us very interesting facts about the monster and names they gave the players from opposing teams to hit it over that wall. It was very enjoyable as well as laughable. The interesting tour was then concluded and we hiked to our seats. Since the tour was over, my grandma went to the seats. I wasn’t ready to go back yet, so I went sprinted to the bullpen in right to watch my favorite pitchers pitch. I was amazed by them gunning 100mph fastballs and watched in awe for a while. I then begged the players for a ball and after being annoyed, they finally gave it to me. I was ecstatic that I darted to my grandma to show her my memory. I explained to her how I got it but then went back to the pen for more action. It was then that the whole Red Sox team started warming up on the right field line. While all this was happening, the grounds crew was setting up the backstop and the home plate tarp. Batting practice was about to begin. The Red Sox hit first and they were belting the ball to all fields. Many young fans were screaming player’s names to be lucky to get a ball or get an autograph. The players ignored and kept hurling the ball. That was finally over and I took my seat for the first time. A young woman sang the National Anthem and the game was under way. Tim Wakefield, the veteran Knuckleballer was on the hill for the winning most team in baseball, the Red Sox. He is a very weird guy and he was either really on or really off. Unfortunately for the Sox, he didn’t have his best stuff and his knuckleball was not fluttering as it usually does. The Philadelphia Phillies scored two runs in the first, so they off to an early lead. In the bottom of the third, the Sox scored one off a solo monster shot by Dustin Pedroia. Next, in the bottom of the sixth, Chase Utley and Ryan Howard hit back to back bombs to give the Phillies a commanding lead. The Red Sox offense was in a little bit of a slump, so they did not get anything going all night. They fought hard but still came out with a loss. We had pizza and drinks and we rode the bus all the way back to our hotel. Out of all the Red Sox games I have been too, this one had to be the most fun and the most memorable of all. I had so much fun and hope they will win their next game. The next game I go to, I will want to do the same thing.
